Blaise Barre

Blaise works seasonally with Yeomen Tree Service Co-operative as a climbing arborist through fall, winter, and spring. In the summer he runs Azimuth Neighbourhood Farm, a small scale organic market garden on the outskirts of south Nanaimo.

Blaise has a diploma in environmental science from Lethbridge College and is a certified horticulturalist technician from Vancouver Island University. He was also a career wildland fighter spending 8 years in the Alberta and British Columbia wildfire programs. Through his diverse experience and education in forests and with trees, Blaise offers an environmentally conscious approach to arboriculture. Blaise also holds the designation of Co-opD.D as a trained co-op director, issued by the Johnson Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy, and recognized by the Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL).

Blaise is a founding member of the co-operative and has served on the board since its incorporation.
