Shawn has been interested in co-ops throughout his adult life and is proud to be an instrumental part of the success of Yeomen.

With some prior landscaping experience, Shawn started out working side by side with Ben Geselbracht in the early days of the business from 2013 until 2017. Beginning in 2022, Shawn took on the management of the business in preparation for the eventual incorporation and conversion to a co-op. Since 2022, Shawn has overseen this transition and guided the co-op to being a a successful and resilient business.

Shawn holds a PhD in Peace, Conflict and Development Studies from the Universitat Jaume I in Castellón, Spain, which has informed his philosophical and ethical approach to running a business, and to collective decision-making.

Shawn is also a director on the board of the BC Cooperative Association (BCCA) as the delegate representing Yeomen Tree Service Co-operative.
