Danger Trees

Danger trees, or hazard trees, are trees that pose an immediate or foreseeable risk to people, structures, vehicles, or utilities due to their condition, location, or structural instability. They may be dead or in terminal decline, leaning heavily, have root or trunk damage, or display signs of disease or decay that compromise their integrity. We have a certified tree risk assessor on staff and assess danger trees using industry-standard criteria and provide honest, safety-first recommendations for removal or mitigation.

Not all risky trees need to come down, however some do need to removed, and quickly. If a tree has major cracks, root upheaval, or large dead limbs hanging over active areas, it is time for an assessment. If you are unsure, or if a tree has been damaged due to a storm, give us a call and one of our staff will arrange a site visit.

It is important to understand that no tree ever has the guarantee of zero risk. Trees are living organisms, and their behaviour can change with weather, age, and unseen internal factors. Our role is to identify foreseeable hazards, reduce risk where possible, and communicate clearly when the limits of safety are reached. Whether it is pruning to reduce weight, bracing a weak union, or full removal, our goal is always to protect people and property while respecting the role of trees in our shared environment. If we can reduce the foreseeable risks together, then the benefit of having trees greatly outweighs the risk.
