Stump Grinding

Stump grinding is the process of removing a tree stump by mechanically grinding it below ground level, leaving the surrounding area intact and ready for reuse. Stump grinding is an efficient and low-impact method that eliminates the visible stump while minimizing disturbance to the surrounding landscape.

After a tree has been removed, the work isn’t always finished, and stump grinding should be considered when the remaining stump interferes with the use or future plans for the space. Stumps can pose tripping hazards, attract insects and decay, and make maintenance like mowing difficult. Importantly, they can limit subsequent plans, such as planting a new tree, installing a garden bed, or creating a lawn or patio area. Stump grinding can be scheduling immediately following the felling or removal of a tree.

We assess each site to determine the most appropriate approach based on your goals for the space. We can complete stump grinding in-house or coordinate with a trusted local partner to ensure the work is done efficiently and to a high standard. We also advise on grinding depth and site preparation so the area is ready for its next use. Our goal is to leave you with a clean, safe, and workable space that supports your plans moving forward.
